Airway Workshop at Thomas Jefferson University

Hi Everybody! My name is Diane Dy. I recently attended the anesthesia airway workshop at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. It was another yet successful event!;) It was very informative, educational, and mind-stimulating as I learned a lot more about what CRNA's do. The simulation lab was very interesting and helpful. I had plenty of fun familiarizing myself with the "Drager" anesthesia machine. I also learned and demonstrated on how to intubate a patient using the glidoscope, do an arterial line placement, simulate an epidural, and spinal tap, and most importantly perform mask ventilation the proper way. what impressed me the most is how everybody got together and brought about a very successful event. CRNA's, SRNA's, Julia Feliciano, CRNA, MSN (Program Director - Thomas Jefferson University Nurse Anesthesia Program), and most especially Founder, Diversity in Nurse Anesthesia Program - Wallena Gould, CRNA, MSN,who took their precious time on a saturday to share their knowledge and expertise, giving us hope and encouragement that, we too, can do it. It was priceless advice and learning...A big thank you for a wonderful experience. For all of you out there who want to be a CRNA, highly reccommended!;)
