Description:
The School Director is
responsible for the development,
organization and management
of a large, multi-campus,
multi-option NLNAC accredited
Associate degree nursing
program, a MEAC accredited,
Associate degree Direct-entry
Midwifery program, a vocational
certificate practical
nursing program and a
vocational certificate
Medical Assisting program.
This is a managerial,
confidential employee
who acts on behalf of
the College.
Duties
& Responsibilities:
· Responsible for
classes and programs within
the School of Nursing,
that may be taught across
all campuses of the College
· Provides support
and advice in the collective
bargaining process, and
assures adherence to relevant
areas of any collective
bargaining agreement
· Supervises four
Chairpersons and over
50 full-time faculty /
staff, and is a leader
in the field of nursing
· Assures that
curricula are contemporary
and consistent with standards
of the professions
· Assures that
curricula materials and
resources are current,
and that faculty have
the tools they need to
provide the best possible
education to students
· Participates
in the community educational
and professional arenas
to promote the programs
and is the College's link
with educational, business
and professional communities
for their respective Schools
and are prepared to meet
the needs of Workforce
Development
· Facilitates articulation
agreements with transfer
educational institutions
and develops partnerships
to benefit constituents
· Assures maintenance
of data to support systematic
program evaluation
· Assures that
all appropriate accreditation
and certification standards
are met
· Assures adherence
to program and College
policies and procedures
· Prepares and
maintains budgets and
equipment, and seeks alternate
funding sources, such
as grants and partnerships
· Resolves issues
and problems that may
arise with chairs, faculty,
staff and students and
provides training opportunities
for employees
· Serves on program,
campus and college-wide
committees
· Participates
in the development and
implementation of College
Policies, Procedures and
guidelines
· Performs other
duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
· Florida license
or eligibility as a registered
nurse (RN) and Master's
Degree in Nursing with
three (3) years clinical
experience; Doctorate
in Nursing or related
field preferred
· A minimum of
six (6) years experience
in nursing education
· Demonstrated
leadership experience
· Must be computer
literate
· Possess excellent
interpersonal skills
· Possess excellent
written and oral communication
skills
· Posses organizational
and time management skills,
and able to multitask
· Able to work
a flexible schedule
