Helping Son to Become A Nurse

I am a single mom with three children in college. My youngest, a former physical education major, has decided to follow his original dream of becoming a nurse. So he packed all his things, came home this summer in anticipation of transferring to a local college here in the Atlanta area, only to find out he his application for admissions to Clayton State University as a transfer student (freshman) was denied even on appeal because they did not accept all his credits. So now he has to get 12 credits in order to transfer in the Spring 2011 semester. He wants to be a nurse, gave up track and field and attending college with his brother and friends up at Norfolk State. He also gave up admissions to three other colleges to which he had originally applied and who held his spot for him for Fall 2010 because he did not apply for nursing at any of those schools.

So as an educator who is unfamiliar with how to best prepare him for his next steps in his quest to become a nurse, I need some guidance.

Are there any hospitals who would be willing to fund his undergraduate education if he agrees to work for them either during his undergrad time or after he graduates provided he meets all gpa requirements, etc.?

Please someone help me....

Thanks.

I was in your son`s position

I was in your son`s position a lot of years ago, in those times it was very hard to find any hospitals willing to fund your education. I finished master degree nursing the last year and now it`s easier to find a job in this field, if your son is motivated enough to work as a nurse he will find a way through.
