Full-Time, tenure track, 9-month contract to start Fall 2012
As a member of the faculty, the appointee will be expected to contribute to teaching, service, and scholarship and support the vision "to prepare caring, competent, culturally sensitive nurse leaders for a diverse society through excellence in nursing education." The faculty member may be called upon to teach in a distance-learning mode and expected to develop web-enhanced and/or web-based instruction. Specific assignments are dependent upon departmental needs. Additional faculty responsibilities include student advisement, participation on and chairing department committees and engagement in university service activities at all levels.
Minimum Qualifications: An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field (progress in a doctorate program considered) in addition to a master's degree in nursing and an unencumbered license to practice nursing in West Virginia are required for nurse faculty.
Preferred Qualifications: Recent experience in caring for patients in acute care and community settings specifically at the entry into practice level. Recent teaching experience in a baccalaureate or higher degree program.
