The University of Florida College of Nursing is seeking an experienced academic leader for the full-time senior administrative position of Associate Dean For Academic Affairs. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (ADAA) holds faculty rank and is a full-time administrator. She/he is a member of the College’s leadership team, and oversees all aspects of academic /curricular planning, development, implementation and evaluation.
The University of Florida is one of the nation’s top twenty Association of American Universities (AAU) public research universities. With more than 50,000 students, UF is the fourth largest university in the nation. UF’s remarkably diverse campus in north central Florida includes a major arts and sciences component, the Institute of Food and Agricultural Science, and the Health Science Center. .
The College of Nursing is the premier educational institution for nursing in the state of Florida and a highly regarded nursing program nationally. The college is part of the state’s flagship university, and offers nationally accredited baccalaureate and master’s degree programs as well as the state’s oldest PhD in Nursing Science. A Doctor of Nursing Practice degree was initiated in Fall 2006. Faculty research is focused in the areas of mental health, aging, cancer, health policy, and women’s / family health. An active faculty practice plan supports interdisciplinary work and leadership in advanced nursing practice. The College of Nursing has an established shared governance structure which fosters open communication and a positive work environment. There is a strong emphasis on lifelong learning and professional development for all faculty, administrators and staff with strong support for these endeavors.
Qualifications:
• A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field
• A graduate-level degree (master’s or doctorate) in nursing
• Four years of relevant experience in nursing education.
• Demonstrated leadership in academic nursing; educational preparation relevant to teaching / pedagogy / curriculum.
Salary Range: $100,000 – $180,000
