Job Description:
This is a 12-month collateral track faculty position in the School of Nursing with department appointment in HEALTH-FAMILY and CHILD HEALTH NURSING. Rank is commensurate with experience and preparation.
Responsibilities:
Teaching and community engagement using clinical expertise in acute care, in-patient nursing. Implementation of all roles of collateral track faculty (teaching, scholarship and service). Coordinating multiple clinical sections and serving as clinical faculty for undergraduate NURS 202 Technologies in Nursing and NURS 511 Health Assessment. Coordination of clinical experience for undergraduate students and laboratory experiences for graduate students. Leadership in developing innovative clinical experiences focused on fundamentals in nursing practice.
Qualifications:
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Virginia. Master's degree in nursing. Clinical expertise and recent clinical experience in acute care, in-patient Nursing. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP). Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and to work cooperatively with others. Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate complex tasks. Demonstrated ability to work independently and respond effectively to feedback. Demonstrated effectiveness as nurse educator desired. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
