Patient Services Practice, Research and Education must ensure the effective design and implementation of innovative practice models, patient care delivery processes and comprehensive, evidence based curriculum. The Director serves as liaison to Schools of Nursing, Performance Improvement, and Nursing Cabinet to facilitate use of clinical and financial data and research findings for decision-making and implementation of programs that ensure excellence in the delivery of patient care delivery. The Director must also ensure that educational programs and patient care delivery processes meet regulatory, accepted practice standards and accreditation requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing. Masters of Science Degree in Nursing and earned /in process Doctorate in Nursing or related field with preparation in clinical research and nursing education. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in the clinical setting; previous experience in Director role preferred , comparable experience in the academic setting desirable. Experience in grantsmanship, conduct, and facilitation of clinical nursing research. Previous experience in the development of a program of nursing research desired . Membership and participation in professional nursing and research organizations. Demonstrated ability in human relations and communication skills. Meets criterion for appointment to the Yale School of Nursing faculty at the associate Professor level. Experience in staff development using adult learning theory to design and implement curriculum to meet educational needs of staff regarding current and developing practice issues both within the organization and from external accrediting agencies.
