Job Description:
The George Washington University’s Department of Nursing Education, to be School of Nursing on July 1, 2010, seeks applications for five (5) faculty positions at the Instructor, Assistant, or Associate professor level to join our energetic, creative faculty and growing programs. Positions are open in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program, Master of Science in Nursing Program, and Doctor of Nursing Practice program. These are 12- month positions. Rank, salary, and employment in either a tenure or non-tenure track faculty position will be commensurate with experience.
Basic Qualifications: Applicants must be registered nurses and have teaching experience and proof of scholarship as evidenced by means such as articles, book chapters, and/or presentations. The successful candidate hired at the Assistant or Associate level will have earned a doctorate in nursing or a closely related field. Those with a master degree are eligible to apply in the special service category as a clinical education professor. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who can immediately attain tenure. Also preferable are those with teaching and research experience in areas including, but not limited to, primary care, adult or family nurse practitioner, obstetrics, pediatrics, medical surgery, genetics, mental health, health policy, quality management and health information technology. Demonstrated use of and a commitment to technology and web-based teaching is also preferred.
