Job Description:
Administration Responsibilities
• Administrator for 20 full-time faculty members and over 400 students
• Oversight of graduate and undergraduate, RN to BSN programs in nursing
• Federal and state grant supervision
• Development and maintenance of productive relationships with external
constituencies
• Administration of facilities, personnel and budget
• Leadership in keeping with the University’s mission
• Advocating for nursing in the academic environment
Faculty Responsibilities
• Teaching, service, and scholarship activities
Required Qualifications
• Doctorate in Nursing or related field and a Master of Science in Nursing (Degrees must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university)
• Current active Missouri RN license or eligibility for Missouri licensure
• Recent experience in administration of undergraduate, RN to BSN, and graduate nursing programs
• Demonstrated experience with grant administration
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, scholarship and service
• Evidence of involvement in professional organizations
• Demonstrated understanding and support for distance and online education
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community
• Demonstrated commitment to working with multicultural populations and awareness of the issues affecting women and minorities
Departmental Information: The Department of Nursing includes 20 faculty members serving over 400 undergraduate and graduate students. Both the BSN and MSN programs are CCNE accredited. The department website may be accessed at: http://www.semo.edu/nursing/
Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience. The University provides an excellent benefits package including retirement, medical, sick leave, holidays, individual and dependent tuition benefits.
