We are currently seeking a candidate to fill a full-time Nursing Instructor - ADN position with a focus on Psychiatric Mental Health. This position is open until filled with a start date of Winter 2012 semester.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Master of Science degree in Nursing.
2. Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Michigan.
3. One (1) year of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing teaching experience within the last three (3) years.
4. Two (2) years of clinical work experience in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing within the last five (5) years including EMR and computer competency, and medical/surgical nursing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing specialty.
2. Experience with nursing simulation.
3. National League of Nursing Accreditation experience.
4. Experience with course/program development.
5. Broad based psychiatric mental health nursing theoretical and clinical background in acute care or ambulatory settings.
6. Experience with innovative instructional methodologies in support of classroom and distance learning.
7. Social skills which enable them to work cooperatively, effectively, and responsibly with community college students, faculty and staff.
8. Knowledge of the learning needs and abilities of today's community college student.
9. Familiarity with the role of the community college in higher education and the community.

Duties/Responsibilities
1. Teach courses in accordance with the description published in the catalog and common syllabus. It is recognized that the methods, procedures and interpretations of various instructors may differ.
2. Distribute Course Syllabus to the first session of each class. Such syllabus must contain, at a minimum, all of the elements of the master course syllabus and model the common syllabus.
3. Schedule office hours for student consultation and post these hours prominently.
4. Meet all scheduled classes, office hours, and final examinations as scheduled.
5. Attend and participate in all scheduled faculty meetings and Advisory Committee meetings and activities unless excused by the appropriate administrative officer or unless classes conflict.
6. Provide timely feedback to students regarding their progress.
7. Maintain attendance and grade reports and submit them to the Registrar's Office.
8. Submit to the appropriate administrator, reports on each student who the faculty member believes is in need of counseling services.
9. Complete requested reports on student athletes and submit them to the Athletic Director/appropriate administrator.
10. Attend and participate in all scheduled department, discipline and division meetings.
11. Cooperate with his/her department in developing course syllabi and participate in the textbook selection process.
12. Assist the appropriate administrator in the maintenance of the laboratory and laboratory equipment used by the instructor.
13. Participate, when necessary, in the State-mandated Performance Review of Occupation Education (PROE).

Salary for 2011/2012 is determined based upon degrees and previous experience in accordance with the Faculty Master Agreement.

Master's $44,409 - $56,851
Master's +30 $46,625 - $59,068
Doctorate $48,850 - $61,290
