CPR Training Moves to The Internet
Health care professionals know that traditional
classroom courses are unrealistic for today's busy schedules. ACLS
Certification, an Oregon health care training provider, has recognized
the increasing need for convenient certification and is now offering
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
for health care professionals that can be completed on a computer
at any desired location.
These courses also include an American Heart Association (AHA)
certification card upon completion. This is the latest effort to
utilize advanced technologies to combat the rising costs of traditional
training programs and the increasing demands on patient care staff.
ACLS Certification offers two courses with AHA certification. HeartCode
ACLS is a four-part evaluation completed entirely on a home or office
computer through an online connection to one of the ACLS Certification
servers. ACLS Certification also offers a basic life support course,
designed for health care provider (HCP) renewals.
This allows medical professionals to complete sections online,
with a skills evaluation conducted by a certified AHA BLS instructor
in the participant's area. These self directed computer programs
allow participants to practice techniques at their own pace, offer
feedback, and provide evaluations of the participants' skills in
less time and at less cost than the traditional classroom courses.
These new programs follow the AHA guidelines and include all of
the latest AHA updates. "We are moving past the days when medical
professionals have to contort their busy schedules to fit a classroom-based
course calendar," notes Michael G. Chenault, president of CPR
Associates of Oregon. "With the American Heart Association's
introduction of these products, health care providers can now fit
these vital courses into their schedules when it's convenient."
