Press Release

Oklahoma Black Nurses Association, Inc

Oklahoma Black Nurses Association, Inc. (OBNA) is the first chapter of the National Black Nurses Association established in Oklahoma. OBNA was founded by Wendy Williams, RN. This has been a dream of hers, and it has come to fruition. OBNA base is in Tulsa, however we welcome African American nurses (RNs, and LPNs), retired nurses, and nursing students from anywhere in the state of Oklahoma.
Our goal is to work with our communities to improve the population's health status and to encourage the spirit of volunteerism among health professionals. Our plan is to focus on the community as a whole. OBNA will partner with the community to participate in wellness health fairs, provide education on diseases and illnesses that affect the African American community, and we are looking to adopt a school. OBNA wants to be a part of the first line defense in health promotion within our community; keep in mind that health status is not only the physical but it includes our environment as well. OBNA’s vision is based on community values that address the health and quality of life for all African Americans. For more information about OBNA please call Wendy Williams @ 918-829-0257 or Lisa Allen @ 918-409-3189. You can also follow Oklahoma Black Nurses Association on Facebook, where you will find postings of our upcoming meetings and events, and you are also welcome to post discussions.

We are looking for members and male nurse!
