Newly launched $5,000 scholarship, exclusively for US students pursuing a degree that will help combat nursing home abuse (full scholarship details at: http://www.nursinghomeabuse.net). The scholarship will cover non-tuition related expenses such as rent, childcare, textbooks, utilities and groceries for the 2012-2013 academic year. The application window is January 15 through February 15.

TravelNursing.org Nursing Education Scholarship

TravelNursing.org is pleased to offer scholarships for those who are applying to nursing or medical educational programs or are currently pursuing education and employment in the fields of nursing and medicine. Every six months, one applicant will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship to help with the costs associated with attending medical or nursing school.

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, William K. Schubert Minority Nursing School

Due April 30, 2011: The goal of the William K. Schubert Scholarship Program is to increase the diversity of registered nurses both at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and in our community, at large. The program grants awards annually to assist with tuition and fees for individuals from historically under-represented groups in nursing, who are preparing to be pediatric, direct patient care registered nurses.

Women in Healthcare Scholarship

Applicants must either be a young woman in their senior year of high school and plan to declare a degree in allied health, or a woman currently enrolled as a full time student at an accredited allied health school
500 to 750 word essay (see website for essay topics)
Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent)
High school graduation date of 2011 or earlier
Must be a citizen or legal resident of the United States

Lambda Pi Alpha Sorority Scholarship

Providence Saint John Foundation Health Care Scholarship

Students interested in one of seven available scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year may print an application from the Foundation’s Web site, select the scholarship(s) in which they are interested and submit the application, along with any required support materials, to the Providence Saint John Foundation by June 7, 2010.

2010 A Nurse I Am Scholarship

To make the film "A Nurse I Am" especially rewarding, Cherokee Uniforms is offering up to 10 scholarships of $2,000 each for nursing students who complete an application, submit an essay on the required assignment, and are judged as winners.

To participate, you will need to have watched either version of "A Nurse I Am" - the 32-minute Educational Version or the 62-minute documentary. It is highly recommended that you watch both.

The Medical Professionals of Tomorrow Scholarship

The first Medical Professionals of Tomorrow Scholarship is being held for the fall 2010 semester. Applicants must submit a 500-word essay along with their online application that explains who or what inspired them to seek out a career in healthcare. The winner of the scholarship will receive a check for $1,000 to help with tuition and other expenses.

Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, which will open for enrollment in fall 2010, seeks applications for two postdoctoral fellowships. The fellowships are for two years, beginning September 1, 2009. One fellowship is open to candidates with a research focus in aging. The other fellowship will have a research focus on health policy and system change. Applicants must have a doctorate degree in nursing or another health-related field.
